POSTED AUGUST 14 BY THE AUTHOR NORMAN LEBRECHT ABOUT THIS VIDEO:
Among Golden Agers, Ida plays eternal
August 14, 2012 By Norman Lebrecht "The loss of Ruggiero Ricci last week left many of us harking back to an age when every violinist had character and a unique sonic imprint. No performer could be mistaken for any other. Of that era, only Ida Haendel is still out there. Here's fresh video from Cambridge, just gone online."

For those not familiar with Ida Haendel: She was born in 1928 in Poland and began public performances at the age of seven. She currently lives in Miami, Florida where she is associated with The Miami International Piano Festival and its parent organization Patrons of Exceptional Artists.
