Symphony Orchestra Program
PIMF’s flagship Symphony Orchestra Program regularly includes up to six orchestra levels. Consequently, it is possible to include in our dynamic summer music program students of all ages and skill levels. Students are not required to submit audition files before registering. Audition files are required for placement purposes only and should be uploaded only after you have registered for the Philadelphia International Music Festival.
- Five to ten minutes of current, well-prepared solo repertoire.
- Performances may be accompanied or unaccompanied.
- For students desiring to place in higher level ensembles, we recommend that audition recordings include two contrasting pieces.
- Please include scales appropriate to your instrument. Examples below:
(Please note that students may choose to prepare other scales, as these templates are created to simply show a suggested format.)
Flute | Oboe | Clarinet | Bassoon | Horn | Trumpet | Trombone | Tuba | Violin | Viola | Cello | Double Bass
Auditions will determine: Ensemble Placement, Chamber Music Placement, Master Class Selection and, in some cases, Private Instructor.
Once you are ready to upload your files, scroll to the bottom of this page where you may click the audition link to access Acceptd, the audition platform for the Philadelphia International Music Festival. Again, please do not upload audition files until after you have submitted your online registration form. (Please note that there is a $25 non-refundable fee when submitting an audition.)
